| Brief History | |
There are 572 islands, Part of chain of Islands lying from Myanmar to Indonesia. Original inhabitants are aboriginal tribes known as Jarawas, Ongis, Sentinals, Great Andamanese, Nicobaries and Shompens have sattled in these islands 1000 years back. The British had made it a Penal Colony around 200 years back to imprison freedom fighters and criminals. Today these Islands are known as mini India for, people of all states of India are living here harmoniously and tourists from all over the world visiting occasionally for this is the only place where Terrorism has not yet touched. |
